Yorker Specialist T Natarajan replaces Umesh Yadav for IND vs AUS 3rd Test at SCG

Pacemen Umesh Yadav has sustained a calf muscle on the third day of the second Test in Melbourne and has been ruled out of the four-match Test series. The third Test will be played at Sydney Cricket Ground on January 7, 2021 at 5 AM IST.

T Natarajan replaced Umesh in India squad for last two Tests

India vs Australia Series: On Friday, BCCI announces that the rookie yorker specilaist T Natarajan to replace injured Umesh Yadav in India's Test squad against Australia for the remaining Tests. Both Indian pacers duo Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Shami will undergo rehabilitation at the NCA camp in Bengaluru. Shami did not play in the second Test and was replaced in India's playing XI by Siraj, who turned out to be a match-winner in India's clinical victory vs Australia in Melbourne Test.

Team India paceman Umesh Yadav has sustained a calf muscle on the third day of the second Test at MCG and has been ruled out of the much-anticipating Test series. BCCI also stated that Shardul Thakur was added to the squad ahead of the Melbourne Test as a replacement for Mohammed Shami, who suffered a groin injury.

Umesh Yadav bowled mere 3.3 overs in the second innings of the Melbourne Test before he limped off the field complaining of pain in his calf. He did not bowl further in the match even as India reclaimed an emphatic 8-wicket win over the Aussies to level the series by 1-1.

BCCI also confirmed that 'Hitman' Rohit Sharma has joined the India squad after completing his mandatory 14-day quarantine. Rohit Sharma is seen practicing in nets ahead of the much-awaited two Tests, kick begins on January 7 in Sydney.

Tamil Nadu young pacer T Natarajan made his T20 international debut in the current India tour of Australia and played all three matches. He also made his ODI debut in the same tour, as a replacement for Varun Chakravarthy, another spinner from Tamil Nadu. Natarajan could make his Test debut as well, depending on India's XI chosen by stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane for the third test.
