Virat Kohli is one of the fittest athletes of the world. Post-2012 IPL Virat Kohli decided on focus on his fitness if he wants to be the best. All the people have seen Virat transformation from an unfit player to fittest player of the team, but very few people know the guiding force behind it. The man behind Virat transformation is Shankar Basu. Shankar Basu was strength and conditioning coach of the Indian National Cricket team and currently working with Royal Challengers Bangalore. Basu owes the credit for Virat Kholi steep rise in the performance. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore recently share a Video about Shankar Basu, about his Journey and how Virat Kohli changed everyone perspective towards fitness. Basu in the Video talks about how Virat Kohli has changed the fitness scene in India. Now, even the school playing kids are particular about their fitness. Furthermore, he talks about his life outside of fitness and conditioning. Basu is a movie buff, likes to listen to music and read books during free time. He was once a regular 9-5 job guy, but one day he quit his job to live the dream of his life and there he is one of the best fitness coaches in the country.

Basu gives a lot of credit of his success to his wife. She was the one who supported him during the profession switch and he still gets goosebumps thinking about the day he entered the fitness line.

Shankar Basu has been keeping an eagle eye of Royal Challengers Bangalore player fitness and making sure players are fully fit before the start of the season. Royal Challengers Bangalore will play their first game against SunRisers Hyderabad on 21st September in Dubai.
