India vs Australia Test Series: Ahead of the much-awaited third Test against Australia (IND vs AUS) at SCG, Team India suffered a massive setback. Indian cricket team star batsman KL Rahul has been ruled out of the remainder of the Tests against Australia due to a sprained left wrist injury. KL Rahul will no longer be a part of Team India for the remaining two Tests of the Border Gavaskar Series. Leaving Team India in between, he will now return to India and will go under rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.
On Tuesday, KL Rahul got injured while practicing on the nets. Due to a wrist injury, the wicket-keeper batsman has been advised to rest for a couple of weeks to regain his full fitness. With this, he became the third Indian player to return to India during the four-match Test series on the Australia tour. Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav have already returned to their home soil after getting injured.

Rahul didn't even get a chance in India's playing XI in the first two matches played on the India tour of Australia. There were speculations about his selection in the third Test but he got the injury just ahead of the third Test that will be played in Sydney on Jan 7. Meanwhile, Rahul was a part of the Indian team in the ODI as well as the T20I series. He scored 93 runs in three ODIs while 81 runs across the shortest format.
