SL vs ENG 1st Test: Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) on Wednesday announces their squad for the much-anticipating two-match home Test series against England, kick begins at Galle International Stadium, Galle from tomorrow onwards. Sri Lanka vastly experienced Angelo Mathews named in Sri Lanka's 22-man squad for the Test series against the English side. Dimuth Karunaratne has been named the skipper of the Sri Lanka cricket team. However, the Lankans will be missing the services of their experienced Dhanajaya de Silva who got injured in the recently concluded Test series against South Africa which they eventually lost 0-2 at the hands of the Proteas. So, Sri Lanka team would be eager to bounce back especially on their own soil.

Their opponent, the England team has never much success in the sub-continent, lost 0-4 to Virat Kohli-led Team India the last time they toured here. However, in 2018, Root and Co have achieved one success as they whitewashed the home team 3-0 to become the first side to clean-swept Sri Lanka on their home backyard.
