Sourav Ganguly expects record TV ratings for Dream11 IPL 2020

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly expects dream 11 IPL 2020 to break all the viewership records and reach new heights. while delivering an online lecture for the Symbiosis Golden Jubilee Lecture Series Ganguly told IPL 2020 will be special and set up a new viewership record in the history of sports in India.

Dream 11 IPL 2020 will commence from September 19th at UEA this year. Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are three venues selected for the tournament.

Crowds will watch it on television... They [broadcasters] are actually expecting the highest rating of IPL this season, because they believe if [fans] don't turn up in the ground, they will be actually watching on their television sets” said Ganguly.

When asked about whether spectators will be allowed in the later stages of the tournament or it will remain no-in person attendance until the end Ganguly said “Because of Covid and the infection, you don't want people to be too close to each other, but very soon you will see there will be 30% people in the ground with social distancing.

"They [will be] properly tested and allowed to enter the ground. But I think that is going to happen over a period of time."

“This is just a virus which has started weaking.  These are like small obstacles in our life and we need to get past them. We could have easily cancelled the IPL but then after all we are human, we have to survive the difficult times”, he further added.

The things have turned all the more difficult for the organizers after Covid Positive cases were founded in the Chennai Super Kings Camp. The has created hindrance for organizers as they face challenge in finalizing tournament schedule.
