Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: Former Team India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has tied in a knot with Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as a batting consultant for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season. Sanjay Bangar will join Mike Hesson, the director of cricket operations for RCB, and Simon Katich, the head coach. Interestingly, Bangar has previously worked as the head coach of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) as well.

Sanjay Bangar has started as the assistant coach during IPL 2014 season and was promoted to head coach as the side managed to reach the final. He continued with the Bangalore-based franchise for three more seasons before giving up on the role to avoid conflict of interest.

Former Indian team batting coach has been appointed as the batting coach of India in August 2014 when Team India head coach Ravi Shastri took over him as team director. He continued in the role till the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. But after that, he was replaced by Vikram Rathour.
IPL 2021 is likely to be held in April and the final of the tournament can be organized in the first week of June 2021. BCCI is trying its best to organize this season in India and the dates to be finalized soon. The players’ retention window for every franchise for the IPL 2021 is already completed. Now, every franchise is waiting for the IPL 2021 auction, which Chennai will host on February 18, 2021.
