New Zealand vs Australia, 1st T20I: New Zealand gears up to host the five Twenty20 internationals against their arch-rivals Australia and all T20Is will be played at different venues. The first of the five-match T20I bilateral series between New Zealand and Australia (NZ vs AUS) will be played at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM local and 11:30 AM (IST) and it will be streamed live on Fan code App.

The hosts led by Kane Williamson have a good home series against West Indies and Pakistan, which they won by 2-0 and 2-1 respectively. Tim Seifert is in blitzkrieg form at the moment and has adjudged player of the series against Pakistan. So, the wicket-keeper batsman will play a pivotal role for the Black Caps at the top of the order. All eyes will be on Kyle Jamieson, who recently bagged INR 15 crore IPL contract in IPL 2021 with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

On the other hand, Aaron Finch-led Australia have three uncapped players - Riley Meredith, Josh Phillipe, and Tanveer Sangha in the squad. While Josh Phillipe is confirmed to make his debut, the other two Aussie players are also expected to get a chance in between the series. Mathew Wade, who was dropped from the Test squad, will likely open with his skipper in T20Is.

Both New Zealand and Australia are heading into the series with a positive mindset, looking to shape their combinations for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup to be scheduled in India later this year.

New Zealand vs Australia 1st T20 Pitch report:

Hagley Oval's pitch will be hosting its second Twenty international. The surface will assist the pacers and expect a lot of bounce carries through it. Anything over 180 will be quite a challenging total on this surface, toss will be the key.

It will be partly cloudy in Christchurch, with the temperature hovering around 17-20 degrees Celsius and the humidity levels at 60 percent. There is no chance of rain throughout the day as well.
