MS Dhoni shares the letter sent him to by PM Modi, after his retirement from International Cricket

MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket on August 15, wrote on Twitter, to express gratitude towards PM Narendra Modi for valuing his hard work on the field. The former India skipper posted photos of a letter he got from the Prime Minister of India.In the letter, PM Modi lauded MS Dhoni for his accomplishments, yet in addition for his upbringing from humble beginnings.

“But, the name Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not be remembered merely for his career statistics or specific match-winning roles. Looking at you as just a sportsperson would be injustice,” PM Modi wrote in his letter. “The correct way to assess your impact is as phenomenon!” he wrote.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, popularly known as ‘the captain cool’, bid adieu to international cricket on August 15. He is the only captain to win all there major ICC Trophies, the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011 & the Champions Trophy in 2013.

PM Modi ended his letter by wishing Dhoni “the very best for future endeavours.”

Former Indian skipper also thanked Prime Minister Modi after receiving the letter. “An artist, soldier & sportsperson what they crave for is appreciation, that their hard work & sacrifice is getting noticed & appreciated by everyone. Thanks PM @narendramodi for your appreciation & good wishes,” MSD tweeted.
