Indian cricket fans were heart-broken as Indian cricket team crashed out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after suffering an 18-run loss to New Zealand cricket team in the first semi-final at Old Trafford on Wednesday. After Team India's exit from World Cup, a million dollar question arises in the mind of cricket fans is, will Mahendra Singh Dhoni continue his journey or hang up his gloves. Dhoni's retirement have been going around for quite some time. It was also believed that the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 would be his last international tournament for him. When asked about Dhoni's possible retirement, Indian Skipper Virat Kohli told the reporters "MS Dhoni has not told us anything about retirement" Dhoni scored 50 off 72 during India's 18-run loss to New Zealand in the semi-final match.
Bharat Ratna recipient and singing genius Lata Mangeshkar has asked former Indian skipper MS Dhoni not to retire from international cricket. After India's semi-final loss to New Zealand in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 during which MS Dhoni played a slow knock (i.e. 50 off 72 balls), many believed that it was his last international innings. However, Lata Mangeshkar requested the former Indian captain not to retires from cricket as the country still needs him. She also dedicated a motivational song written by Gulzar to the Indian cricket team.
Chasing a total of 240 on a slow track, India stumble badly and were reduced to 92/6 when Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni doing a fantastic job for India's fight back in the match. The duo shared 116-run stand for the 7th wicket which had reduced the equation to 25 required from 10 balls in the end. But Martin Guptill's Direct hit proved to be a lethal blow for Dhoni and the Men-in-Blue.
