Delhi Capitals is now at the top of IPL 2020 table

IPL 2020 Match 7 CSK vs DC Result: Chennai Super Kings problem prevail as they lost their second consecutive match of IPL 13. Delhi beat Chennai by 44 runs. With this win, Delhi is now at the top of the IPL table with four points in two matches. Once again Chennai Super Kings batting order looked strangled and disorganised. Delhi Capitals Prithvi Shaw was the player of the match. He scored 64 runs in 43 balls.

Winning the toss, Chennai invited Delhi to bat first. Delhi Capitals learned from their past mistake and didn't lose a single wicket in the Powerplay. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw had a 94 runs partnership for the first wicket providing a concrete base to the team. Delhi lost only three wickets and scored 175 runs in their 20 overs. On a surface where batting was a challenging task Shikhar Dhawan (35) and Prithvi Shaw (64) showed character. Pant (36) and captain Shreyas Iyer (26) were other major contributors for Delhi Capitals.

Chasing the target, Chennai Super Kings had a slow start. They were 34/2 at the end of 6 overs. Shane Watson and Murli Vijay were back to the pavilion. Faf De Plessis (43) once again tried to handle the innings but Delhi's wrecker-in-chief Rabada (3-26) got his countrymate out. Rabada is now the Purple cap holder. Dhoni who came to bat no. six-position could not do much as he succumbed to the high required run rate. Chennai managed to score 131/7 in their 20 overs.

This is the second time Chennai Super Kings's strategy of saving wickets and go for the strike in death overs has backfired on them. Its time. The questions are also raised on Dhoni batting position. Dhoni had the chance to come early on the crease but at both the occasions the former Indian Captain chose to come at his original batting position. It's high time Chennai Super Kings now need a Stationary batting order and CSK should make some amendments in strategies.

Both Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings will face SunRisers Hyderabad in their next match on September 29 and October 2 respectively.
