The Hitman becomes the only third player in the Indian Premier League history to score 5000+ runs. He once again proved why is one of the best T20 batsmen in the world and valued so much by Mumbai Indians.

In the match against Kings XI Punjab, Rohit Sharma becomes the third player in IPL history to score 5000+ runs. On the first delivery of the second over, the right-handed batsman hits a four to complete his 5000 runs in Indian Premier League. He joined elites like- Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina in the list. Virat is the leading run-scorer in the history of IPL. He has scored  5427 runs in 179 matches, followed by Suresh Raina 5,368 runs in 193 matches. Out of top five players In the list of most run by batsmen in IPL history four are Indians and the only overseas player in is SunRisers Hyderabad captain David Warner (4784). Shikhar Dhawan is the 4th Indian with 4614 runs in his IPL career.

The Rohit Hitman Sharma is like a fine wine he is getting better with age, adding more and more records to his name. Since Suresh Raina has pulled out and not of part of Indian Premier League 2020, Rohit Sharma can leapfrog Suresh Raina to reach the 2nd Spot. . Moreover with just three matches being played till now, the opening batsman has a great chance of closing the gap between him and Kohli who is struggling this season. If Rohit Sharma continues this run-scoring form then he can give stiff competition to the leader, Virat Kohli and might surpass him to attain the top spot.
