ICC Test Rankings: Former Australian captain Steve Smith has surpassed Indian captain Virat Kohli to climb to 2nd place in the latest Test rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Smith has climbed to the second spot in the ICC Test Rankings released on Tuesday after the third Test between India and Australia that ended in a draw. Smith has adjudged 'Man of the Match' for his brilliant batting performance in both the innings against India at SCG. Marnus Labuschagne and Babar Azam have held the 4th and 5th spots respectively.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has been firmly frozen his top spot with 919 rating points. Williamson has showcased some miraculous batting performances in recent times. KW has achieved the best-ever ratings by any Kiwi player.
Indian cricket team regular skipper Virat Kohli has slipped down to third place in the ICC Test Rankings after his absence from the ongoing Test series against Australia after the Adelaide Test. Run Machine Virat Kohli has flown back to India after the Adelaide Test as he had been granted a paternal leave by the BCCI and Kohli became a father on January 11 as his wife actress Anushka Sharma gave birth to their first child, a daughter in Mumbai Hospital.
Rishabh Pant who played a career-defining knock of 97 on the final day of the third Test, gained 19 places to reach 26th position. Hanuma Vihari (52nd) and R Ashwin (89th) too climbed up after their fighting knocks, as has Shubman Gill (69th).
In the bowling dept, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin dropped two placed to 9th and is followed by Jasprit Bumrah, who also lost one spot. No other Indian bowlers in the Top-10 mark. Pat Cummins continues to lead the chart followed by Englishman Stuart Broad and New Zealand's Neil Wagner.

In another major development, the England buoyant all-rounder Ben Stokes remains the number one ranked all-rounder while the Kiwi devastating speedster Kyle Jamieson powers his way into the top 5 in the latest ICC Test all-rounder rankings. With 36 Test wickets so far, Jamieson has impressed everyone after playing just six Tests that lifted him seven places to a career-best 21st place in bowling Rankings.
