Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 JHKD vs MP Highlights: Jharkhand beat MP by 324 runs

Brief scores: Jharkhand - 422/9 (Ishan Kishan 173, Anukul Roy 72; Gaurav Yadav 4/73)

Madhya Pradesh - 98 All out (18.4 overs) (Bhandari 42; Venkatesh Iyer 23; Varun Aaron 6/37)

Ishan Kishan-led Jharkhand overpowers Madhya Pradesh with a humiliating 324-run victory to start off their Vijay Hazare season with a bang. The left-hander Mumbai batsman notched a career-defying 173 off just 94 balls, studded with 11 sixes and 19 fours to propel his side to a mammoth 422/9 from their allotted 50 overs at the Indore's Holkar Stadium. In reply, MP has managed to reach 98 all-out in 18.4 overs and eventually lost the opener at the hands of Jharkhand.

Varun Aaron's six-wicket haul (6 for 37) sealed the fate of this game as the ruthless pacer reducing the hosts to 21/5 by picking four wickets in his opening spell, a blow they could never really recover from. Aaron returned for two more to complete his six-fer as the hosts were bundled out for a paltry in reply, inside 19 overs. Opener Abhishek Bhandari (42) fought hard, while only one more batsman managed a score in double-digits.

Earlier, after being put in to bat, Jharkhand lost their opener cheaply in the third over but then came the magician and took charge onward and blasted a blitzkrieg inning. Kishan dominated both his century stands at the top order, before falling just 27 short of a double hundred when Jharkhand's score gets going at a decent rate.
