Today in Indian Premier League two matches will be played. With neck to neck competitions between the teams, the result of today's matches might change the dynamics of IPL 2020 Points Table. Moreover, we might see some new candidates entering the Orange Cap and Purple Cap list.
IPL Points Table
Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Rajasthan Royals in the first match of the day. In the Points Table, RCB and RR are at the third and seventh position respectively. If Bangalore beat Rajasthan they can dethrone Delhi Capitals from the second position. But, they need to win the match by a big margin as their Net Run-rate is in negative.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals can make a huge jump. Win the win over Royal Challengers Bangalore fifth position is confirmed for them, and if they completely dominate and thrash RCB by a wide margin then the fourth position is also possible.
In the second match of the day Delhi Capitals face Chennai Super Kings. Delhi Capitals are in great form and victory against CSK today will help to regain the top position from Mumbai Indians. Talking about Chennai Super Kings, victory means they will climb up to the fifth position. In order to breach the top four mark, they need a dominating win.
Orange Cap
KL Rahul (KXIP) is leading the Orange Cap race with 448 runs in eight matches. Two players Faf du Plessis (307) and Virat Kohli (304) will play today. These two have the golden opportunity to take the second spot currently acquired by Mayank Agarwal (382). After the match, we might see a new top three run-scorers of IPL 2020.
Dekdutt Padikkal (261) and Shikhar Dhawan (251) can make their ways into the top five players leading the Orange cap race. With suspicious over Shreyas Iyer appearance in today's match, the fifth spot is up for the grab and one of them is likely to capitalise the opportunity.
Purple Cap
Kagiso Rabada of Delhi Capitals is comfortably sitting at the top of the list with 18 wickets. Jofra Archer at number two spot has 12 wickets. Archer's second place in under jeopardy. Yuzvendra Chahal (11) and Anrich Nortje (10) can sideline him to take the second spot. Archer or any other player overtaking Rabada after today's match looks a bit fancy.
