IPL 2020 Shikhar Dhawan maiden IPL hundred: Delhi Capitals most experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan hit his maiden IPL hundred (101* off 58 balls ) with 14 boundaries over the fence along the carpet. Although he was dropped three times at a score of 25, 50 and 79, apart from surviving a half run-out chance, Dhawan made full use of them. With these brilliant efforts from Dhawan and especially with Axar Patel, the Capitals crossed the line while chasing a stiff target of 180 runs as set by the runners-up MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings with one ball to spare. The Capitals regain top spot once again and write their name in the CAPITAL letters in the points table.
Delhi Capitals needed 17 runs off the final over and it seemed Shikhar Dhawan's maiden century could go in vain but Axar Patel played a blinder of a knock by hitting three sixes off Ravindra Jadeja in the final over of the inning and took Delhi Capitals home in a nervy run chase.

African star batsman Faf du Plessis hit his fourth half-century of the season before Ambati Rayudu produced another useful cameo as a collective batting effort propelled Chennai Super Kings to 179 for four.
Plessis (58) added 87 runs stand with Shane Watson (36) after the early fall of Sam Curran, setting it up nicely for the Super Kings. MS Dhoni has gone without much scoring. Rayudu and Jadeja finish well are for the side with some quickfire at the end to take CSK to a competitive total of 179/5 in 20 overs.
They both added 50 runs in the last 3.3 overs during their unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership. Rayudu hit 45* off just 25 balls while Jadeja hit four sixes in his short but blistering 33-run knock.
For DC, their quick veteran pacer Anrich Nortje 2/44 was the pick of the bowlers. Their young emerging pacer Tushar Deshpande and Rabada bowled brilliant with speed and accuracy, both pick 1-1 wicket each.
Delhi Capitals will play their next encounters with the bottom-placed Kings XI Punjab, who taken the defending champions tonight at Dubai. CSK will play against Rajasthan Royals tomorrow in a do or die game.
