IPL 2020: Hamstring Injury forces Rishabh Pant to miss couple of matches

Delhi Capitals Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant pulled his hamstring against Rajasthan Royals. He didn't feature in the clash against Mumbai Indians as well.

IPL 2020: Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant is sidelined for the few upcoming matches due to hamstring injury. In the match against Rajasthan Royals, Rishabh Pant pulled his hamstring which also forced him to the Delhi Capitals previous game against Mumbai Indians. DC captain Shreyas Iyer in the post-match presentation after MI match spoke about Rishabh Pant injury. 

Shreyas Iyer said " we are not sure whether Rishabh would be available for selection the few upcoming matches. He has been instructed to do rest for a week. We hope for his speedy recovery and hope he makes a strong comeback. However, it is just soreness but the management has decided to not take any risk keeping in mind the important matches ahead in IPL 2020 as Delhi have almost booked their place in the playoffs. 

In the match against Rajasthan Royals at Sharjah Cricket Stadium Pant was seen limping while taking Varun Aaron's catch. Before that, he was also having difficulty behind the wickets. In an effort to restrict a quick single towards mid-wicket pant pulled his hamstring. In Delhi Capitals previous match against Mumbai Indians Australian Alex Carey made his IPL 2020 and held command from behind the wickets replacing Rishabh Pant.

Delhi Capitals already have had a number of injuries this season. Ishant Sharma missed first few games due to shoulder Injury, then Ashwin also missed few games, Amit Mishra is ruled out of IPL 2020 and now Rishabh Pant is added to Delhi Capitals injury list. Delhi will next face Rajasthan Royals on October 14. Rishabh Pant is expected to come back in the match against Kings XI Punjab on October 20.
