MI vs DC Final: Shreyas Iyer led Delhi Capitals(DC) have made it to the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) for the first time when they defeated SRH in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2020 in Abu Dhabi. This was only their second win ever in the IPL playoff history and this helped them reach the final of the tournament. Now, DC will play against Mumbai Indians tonight in Dream11 IPL Final at Dubai. In IPL 2020, once again a leap year, can Delhi Capitals end the dominance of the Mumbai Indians this season?
Delhi Capitals will be looking to create history by winning the tournament for the first time but it will not be easy especially against Rohit Sharma starrer Mumbai Indians at the Dubai Cricket Stadium. Delhi Capitals have lost to Mumbai Indians three times in IPL 2020, losing all the three matches by a big margin. However, if one looks at a peculiar trend every four years in IPL (Leap Year), then Delhi Capitals are the favourites to win the title.
The year 2020 is a leap year. The previous leap years in IPL were 2008, 2012 and 2016. In those leap years, three new teams won the title. In IPL 2008, Rajasthan Royals(RR) become the new champion.
In IPL 2012, Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) ended the dominance of MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings when they won the final in Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
After four years, one new team ended the dominance which was SRH. Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) put on a brilliant show in IPL 2016 and led by their star player David Warner who hit 848 runs in the tournament, SRH defeated Virat's Royal Challengers Bangalore by just 8 runs in the final to win the IPL title for the first time. In IPL 2020, once again a leap year, so Delhi Capitals will be eyeing for hold of titles in the tournament.
