Mumbai made a terrific comeback in the game after losing 4 wickets on 74. Ishan Kishan (99) and Kieron Pollard (60) were magicians for MI. However, Mumbai lost in the Super over, result in Ishan and Pollard's inning to no avail. One thing which might have contributed to the unfortunate outcome for MI is the erroneous decision by the team in Super Over.

The question was raised why didn't Ishan Kishan come out to bat. The youngster who played his highest ever inning off 99 runs and was hitting well. Why he was not given the chance to bat in Super Over. In the post-match show, Presenter Sunil Gavaskar and Kevin Pietersen question Mumbai Indians decision. Especially Kevin Pietersen who totally couldn't get the decision. " Since Ishan was the man in the form he should have came out to bat. It doesn't matter how tired you are, a two minutes innings who make any difference, we all have been there and did it", he said in the post-match show.
