IPL 2020 DC vs KKR Highlights and Result: In a high scoring match at Sharjah Delhi Capitals had the final laugh as they beat Kolkata Knight Riders by x runs to attain the top spot in IPL 2020 Points table. Shreyas Iyer and Prithvi shaw helped Delhi to score 228 in 20 overs, Kolkata despite brilliant efforts from Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi fell short of 18 runs. A brilliant final over from Marcus Stoinis turned the side in DC favour. With this Defeat, KKR had slipped to the fifth position in points Table.
Kolkata Knight Riders after winning the toss invited Delhi Capitals to bat first. Delhi had a strong start, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw scored 56 runs in the first five overs. Dhawan (26) was the first one to depart for Delhi. Varun Chakravarthy got his wicket. Next came to bat captain Shreyas Iyer along with Prithvi Shaw continued the run-scoring show. Shaw completed his half-century and teams century. Pant was heading for his maiden hundred but in an attempt to hit a six gave away his wicket to Nagarkot, he scored 66 runs in 41 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer continued the destruction with Rishabh Pant. Iyer also completed his half-century. Delhi lost its third wicket in the form of Rishabh pant who played a brilliant inning of 38 runs in 17 balls. Iyer 88* took the team total above 200 and Delhi Capitals scored 228/4 in their 20 overs.
Once again Sunil Narine (3) could do what the team was expecting of him and he got out in the second over only. Nitish Rana and Shubman Gill started to build the partnership. But faced a major setback when their in-form batsman Shubman Gill was sent back to the pavilion by Amit Mishra. He scored 28 in 21 balls. Andre Rusell in an attempt to score quickly also lost his prestigious wicket. Nitish Rana (58) followed Russell as he after completing his fifty tried to increase the run-rate and in the process got out. All the responsibility was on captain Dinesh Karthik who was facing a lot of criticism for bad form. Karthik (6) in this match also succumbed to pressure and gave away his wicket. Pat Cummins (5) also went back in quick succession.
Morgan and Rahul Tripathi played a brilliant knock of 44 and 36 runs to take their close to the target, but a brilliant yorker by Stoinis bowled Tripathi and ended KKR hope. KKR managed to score 220/8 in their 20 overs.
