Injuries have become the biggest attraction of Indian Premier League 2020 season. Looking at the current scenario, IPL should be renamed as Injury Premier League. With playoffs on the door, the biggest problem for the teams is a long list of injured players. Multiple players had/have been forced to pull out from the season due to various injuries.
The latest player who got injured is Dwayne Bravo. In the match against Delhi Captials Bravo left the field in between due to groin injury. With each passing day, the injury list is getting bigger. Here is the list of teams with most injured players in their squad.
Ravi Ashwin- The off-spinner was the first player to get injured in IPL 2020. In Delhi's first match of the season against Punjab, he dislocated his shoulder. Before going out, he went two wickets in his incomplete first over. He made comeback against Kolkata Knight Riders in match 16.
Amit Mishra- Amit Mishra is the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL history. In the match against Kolkata Knight Riders Mishra injured his fingers. Later reports confirmed it as tendon injury and he was forced to pull out of the current season.
Ishant Sharma- Ishant just played one game for Delhi Capitals before being ruled out for the entire season. On October 12 DC announced Ishant Sharma will miss the remaining part of the season due to left internal oblique muscle tear.
Rishabh Pant- Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper pulled his hamstring against Rajasthan Royals on October 9. In the tests done later, it was found out that pant has grade 1 tear in the hamstring. He is expected to return against KKR on October 24.
Shreyas Iyer- In an attempt to save the boundary in match 23, DC captain Shreyas Iyer injured his shoulder. He missed the next match against Mumbai Indians. Iyer made a comeback against CSK yesterday with bandage guarding his shoulder.
Dwayne Bravo- Caribbean international is the latest addition to the injury list. Last night Bravo left the field due to groin injury. He also missed the initial phase of IPL 2020 due to knee injury.
Ambati Rayudu- After winning the man of the match in the opening game against Mumbai Indians Rayudu was sidelined due to hamstring strain. He missed a couple of matches before making comeback against Hyderabad. The forced break due to injury resulted in Rayudu's declined form.
Mitchell Marsh- In SRH's first game of the season against RCB Marsh suffered an ankle injury. The blow was so huge he couldn't even stand and left the field limping. The huge blow forced him to pull out of the entire tournament.
Kane Williamson- New Zealand international missed the first two matches due to quadriceps injury. During SRH training session, he pulled a muscle which resulted in him sitting in the dugout for the first two games.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar- In SRH clash against CSK Bhuvneshwar Kumar hurt himself. He went out limping, taking the support of the physios. As per team reports, it was a grade 2 or 3 thigh muscle injury and he was ruled out of IPL 2020.
Ali Khan- Ali Khan became the first USA player to be picked up by an IPL team. However, his IPL 2020 season ended before it even got started. In one of KKR's practice session, he sustained an injury and was ruled out for rest of the season.
Andre Russell- Russell injured his shoulder in an effort to save boundary against KXIP. He went out of the ground to take the treatment. The injury was not severe and he played the next match against RCB.
Chris Morris- South African international Morris missed the first five games for RCB due to side strain. He made his IPL 2020 debut against Chennai Super Kings at took four wickets.
Nathan Coulter Nile- The seamer missed the first few matches for Rohit Sharma side due to side strain. James Pattinson replaced him in the playing 11. Now, Splendid performance by Pattinson has blocked Nathan ways of getting back into the starting XI.
