India vs England Series: Suryakumar Yadav, 30, hasn’t named in either of the white-ball squads for the Australia tour last year. After consistently performing for Mumbai in the domestic circuit as well as for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). On Saturday, Mumbai's zestful batsman has finally earned his maiden national call-up for the T20 series vs England, beginning from March 12 in Ahemadabad. Since his debut for Mumbai in 2011, Suryakumar has been a twinkling name in the T20I squads alongside Rahul Tewatia and Ishan Kishan.
Suryakumar Yadav, popularly known as SKY, has been in discussions for a long time to join Kohli-led Team India and finally his hard work and calmness paid off, being picked for the forthcoming four-match T20 series against England.

After his scintillating performances in the IPL 2020, he was being expected to be selected for an Australia tour, but it couldn't happen. Many cricketers, including cricket legendary Sachin Tendulkar, have also raised questions about 'Surya' not being selected in Team India yet. However, he has been playing first-class cricket for almost 13 years, but at the age of 30, he has made history by selected in the national team.
In IPL 2020, the stylish, inventive, and zestful batsman has played some match-winning knocks during last season and accumulates 480 runs in 15 matches at a healthy average of 40.23. The 'Mumbaikar' was the highest run-scorer among uncapped players in IPL 2018 and 2019. He has also played a pivotal role in making Mumbai Indians champions for the record fifth instance.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar has scored 5326 runs in 77 first-class matches at an average of 44.01, including 14 centuries and 26 fifties. In 170 T20Is, he has also notched 3567 runs at a brisk strike rate of 140.29.
