AUS - 35/2 (Marnus Labuschagne 16* Steve Smith 1*; Jaspreet Bumrah 2/8)

The Border-Gavaskar series opener is in progress between India and Australia at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide. Team India resumed Day 2 from 233/6 and add 11 more runs to reach a fighting total vs Australia. Chasing a stiff target, Australian batsmen are playing watchfully to negotiate the trio of Indian pace attack. But Jaspreet Bumrah yet again delivers for India as Australia loses both the openers in the form of Wade and Burns. The rub of the Green-signal continues to be in India's favor. Australia at 39 for the loss of two wickets, Labuschagne and Smith are on the crease at the end of the first session on Day 2.

The Pink-ball Day/Night Test at Adelaide Oval is part of a four-match bilateral series between the two top-most sides, kick-started from Dec 17. However, the visitors' night ruined by a run out on Thursday. Skipper Kohli, Rahane, and Vihari get dismissed in space of just 18 runs in the final session of day one. For Australia, the left-arm quick Mitchell Starc clubbed 4 wickets and he was equally supported by the World's No. 1 Test bowler Pat Cummins and the off-spinner Nathan Lyon.

Interestingly, this is similar first inning score India posted in the 2018-19 series (250 all-out) at the same venue.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli's run-out actually shows the dependency and his aura around this team.  Let's wait and watch whether Kohli's absence in the last three tests will be an eye-opener for India in terms of the results.
