The duo, however, will rejoin the Aussie men's squad ahead of the third Vodafone Test against India which is scheduled to be held in Sydney from Jan 7. Both players have flown to Melbourne ahead of state border closure following CoViD-19 outbreak on Sydney's northern beaches.

It has been confirmed that the groin injury will keep Aussie star opener David Warner has been formally ruled out of the second Test, kick-start on Saturday, Dec 26 at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Melbourne. Australia are likely to go ahead with playing Matthew Wade and Joe Burns at the top order in Warner's absence.

Calf Injured Sean Abbott is also unlikely to play for Australia in the upcoming Test to be played at MCG. But he is dump in the dumps for not playing against India despite the Indian team's dismal performance ats they were rattled for a paltry 36 in the second innings in Adelaide Test.
