India and Australia are currently are battling against each other in the second of the three-match T20I series at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) ahead of the much-awaited four-match Test series. Both the sides makes a couple of matches in their playing XI, especially the hosts who have sustained a few injuries ahead of a must-win game to remain alive in the three-match bilateral series. Chasing a stiff total of 195 runs, KL Rahul and Dhawan put India on course after opener Rahul departed at 30. Dhawan scores a quick-fire 52 off 36 deliveries. However, skipper Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya are on the crease when the score read 123/3 after 14 overs.
Mathew Wade, the Australian skipper became the 11th T20I captain of Australia and led from the front with the bat after India opted to bowl first. Wade opened the innings along with D'Arcy Short and gave Australia a flying start after an early dismissal of Short inside the powerplay. Wade played a blitz half-century and scored 58 off 32 balls studded with 10 fours and one over the ropes.
During the match, an incident occurred in the 8th over of the Australian inning. On the final delivery of Washington Sundar's over, Wade steps out with the intention to loft the delivery over the covers, but he just managed to chips it out to India's captain Virat Kohli, who was fielding in the cover area region. He jumped to get hold with an easy catch and fumbled twice only to drop it. Everyone was in disbelief for a second before a run-out chance was offered.
Both Smith and Matthew Wade found themselves at the center of the pitch which costs the hosts a soft dismissal after Kohli puts down a sitter.
