IND vs AUS Test Series: New Squads

IND vs AUS 1st Test: Australian top-order batsman Marcus Harris added to the Australian squad after Will Pucovski and David Warner ruled out ahead of the next week's series opener against India (IND vs AUS) in Adelaide, kick-starting from December 17. While the young lad Will Pucovski has been officially ruled out due to a groin injury during the first practice match against India A. Harris comes into the squad in place of David Warner, who has already gone down from the first Vodafone Test match after being injured in the second ODI at the SCG late last month.

However, it won't's be easy for Tim Paine and Co as they face a daunting challenge from Virat Kohli-led Team India as the last time the visitors toured Australia in 2018-19. India clinch the four-match series by 2-1 and lifted the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, a plus point for them will be the inclusion of David Warner as he back for the hosts in the second Test at the historic MCG, and Indian skipper Virat Kohli missing the last three matches will benefit the Aussies.

Meanwhile, Australian star opener David Warner did not travel with the Australian squad for the Adelaide test as he continues to aim for regaining full fitness ahead of the second Test starting on 'Boxing Day' in Melbourne.

As both David Warner and Will Pucovski out from at least the first Test, Marcus Harris looks set to play his 10th Test and first since the final Test of the 2019 Ashes. The left-hander top-order batsman averages 25.06 with two half-centuries since debuting against India at the Adelaide Oval a couple of years ago.
