England Vs Pakistan 2nd Test Match: Ben Stokes to miss rest of the series! who will line up in his absence?

Pakistan’s tour of England consisting of a three match test series has begun, in first test match England won by 3 wickets, wrapping up the match on 4th day itself. It was an unexpected win till day 3, as Pakistan was in major lead but Woakes & Buttler’s massive partnership lead to England’s win.

Pakistan is down with 0-1 in their 3-match test series against England, for their next match they will go with their confidence boosted after the news of Ben Stokes pulling out of the remaining two matches, due to family reasons.

Stokes' absence is a huge downfall for England as they will now rush for a replacement to fill the allrounder's place. Woakes could take-over the limelight, something that has eluded him in recent times. Woakes, the best all-rounder in the England side after Stokes, will now have to not only bowl extra overs but also provide stability to the lower-middle order. However, he will be high on confidence after his match-winning 84 in the second-innings in Old Trafford as England got a thrilling win against Pakistan.

After chasing 277 for victory, England were at 117 for 5 and were about to lose. That was when Woakes and Buttler's massive partnership of 139-run stand for the sixth wicket. For the record, Woakes was also the pick of the bowlers on the same ground against the West Indies a few days ago when he got 5 for 50 as England completed a 2-1 series win.

First test match was held in Old Trafford between the two teams, the second & third will be held in Rose Bowl Southampton. Both the teams are geared up for the challenge, England will be looking for another massive win whereas Pakistan will look forward for a win as they lost the previous match, in which they were leading till day third.
