England Vs Australia 2020: We are prepared for English test, says Justin Langer

The battle between Australia and England will start on 4th September with a T20 series followed by ODI series. Right before start of the series, Australian coach Justin Langer has said they are ready for the English challenge.

England recently lost the final game of the T20 series against Pakistan which resulted in series ending all square. With just three days gap the mighty English side will face rested and fresh Australian side.

Australia haven't played international cricket since March. Last match they played was against neighbors New Zealand where Australia comfortably defeated New Zealand by 71 runs. With such an unprecedented long break the Aussies would be eager to back on the field.

Australian team coach, Justin Langer during a conference call said he is aware England is a dangerous side especially Eoin Morgan. He comes out and smack ball for fun. All the more he is aware that England is one of the best One-day teams in the world right now. But he is not cautious not afraid from hosts.

He also reminisced about their last tour back in 2018 and thier recent lost in the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

“We came here two years ago and got smashed 5-0. And came here last year also won two of the three but didn’t win the big one (Semifinal). We know what to expect and this time we are ready for it” said Langer.

In 2018, when Australia visited England, they had fresh wounds from infamous ball tampering case. Steve smith and David warner were banned for one year from International Cricket while Cameron Bancroft was banned for nine months.

The void left by Warner and Smith was clearly visible as Australia was whitewashed by 5-0  in ODI series. Moreover,  they also lost the lone T20.

2018 Series results are as follows

1st ODI- England won by 3 wickets
2nd ODI- England won by 38 runs
3rd ODI- England won by 242 runs
4th ODI- England won by 6 wickets
5th ODI- England won by 1 wicket

T20- England won by 28 runs

It's been two years since the humiliation. However, in the past two years Australia has made everything possible to earn the respect back at international stage.

The first match of the T20 series will be played at the rose bowl stadium, Southampton at 10:30PM IST on 4th September.
