England Vs Australia 2020 series: England unveil their T20 and ODI squads

The host England unveiled their team for the 2020 T20 and white ball series against mighty Australians. Once again England test captain Job Root has been overlooked for T20 series. Root was third highest run scorer In the 2016 T20 World Cup. Its been a year since root last played the shortest format of the game.  

England national selector Ed Smith said Root was not currently in their best T20 team “although no doors are closed to him in the future”. 

Furthermore, Ben Stokes who left the series against Pakistan in between due to family reason as his father was diagnosed with brain cancer was left out for the upcoming series.  The all-rounder is currently spending time with his father at New Zealand.  

World cup winner Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler, and Mark Wood all made their comeback for the T20 and 50 over squad. While Chris Woakes is back in the one day squad. 

England team for the 2020 T20 series against Australia is: 

Eoin Morgan (captain), Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Jonathan Bairstow, Tom Banton, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood. 

Reserves: Liam Livingstone, Saqib Mahmood 

England team for the 2020 ODI series against Australia is: 

Eoin Morgan (captain), Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Jonathan Bairstow, Tom Banton, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood. 

Reserves: Joe Denly, Saqib Mahmood. 

The Australians are currently is Southmapton are in bio-secure bubble. Due to Covid-19 strict measures are taken by concerned authorities to esure the safety of players and staff members. 

The Rose bowl arena, Southampton will host the first T20  on 4th September, 2020 at 11:30 IST.
