It has been two years since Australia last visited England and a lot has changed since then. Last time travelled to Australia they were completely outplayed and whitewashed by England. In 2018, The wounds of infamous Ball tampering incident were crystal clear and fresh. And the impact of ban on David Warner, Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft was vividly visible through series outcome.  

But a lot has changed since. A new Australian side has been formed with more mature and responsive players in the squad. The Cricket Australia (CA) also changed the captain of the team. After the whitewash in 2018, Tim Paine was replaced by Aaron Finch as the new captain. Finch holds the command of Australian side in both ODI and T20.  

Australia will play their first international game since March on 4th September against England. The English side is continuously playing cricket since July. This would be their third consecutive bilateral series. They have faced West Indies and Pakistan earlier.  

Last time both the team played each other was back in 2019 Cricket World Cup Semifinals. England emerged victorious as they won the match by 8 wickets and they later won their First ever Cricket World Cup title. The Aussies would be eager to take revenge this time.
