IPL 2020: Dwayne Bravo is out from the IPL for a couple of weeks

IPL 2020: A bad news came for Chennai Super Kings as well as for his fans as their key player Dwayne Bravo is set to miss out the upcoming IPL matches due to groin injury against the Capitals yesterday. According to medical reports, Bravo could not be able to play for Super Kings for a couple of weeks. The injury comes when CSK needed him the most as the team is struggling with its performance and lacking behind in all departments this season of Dream11 IPL 2020.

As far as Dwayne Bravo's injury is concerned, it came when Delhi Capitals needed 17 runs off the final over, CSK skipper MS Dhoni turned to Jadeja instead of Dwayne Bravo. Bravo, who is also known as death overs specialist and he has been so effective with his slower balls under such crunch situations and he was off the field which proven costly to them at the end. Dwayne Bravo is set to miss a couple of matches for CSK due to groin injury.

Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday said he had to hand the ball to Ravindra Jadeja to bowl the penultimate over against Delhi Capitals on a double-header Saturday. Bravo is not enough to fit for the final over due to some fitness issues.

Dhoni had revealed after the match that Bravo had picked up an injury and was therefore not available to bowl the final over but did not divulge any further details on the matter. However, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming revealed the extent of the West Indian all-rounder's injury in the post-match press conference.

Dhoni said the pitch behaved better when Delhi Capitals began the chase of 180 runs' target earlier set by his team.

Shikhar Dhawan slammed his first IPL hundred and scored 101* off just 58 balls with 14 fours. Dhawan made full use of the lives given to him when he was on 25 and 79. In the end, Axar Patel played a blinder of a knock by hitting three sixes off Ravindra Jadeja in the final over of the inning and took DC home.

"Shikhar's wicket was important but we dropped him quite a number of times. If he keeps batting, he will keep the strike rate high. Also, the wicket played better in the second half, but we can't take the credit away from Shikhar,'' he added.

MS Dhoni's CSK has had the worst IPL season so far and the team is already missing their key players like Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh who are also not available throughout the tournament.

Delhi Capitals goes through the top of the table with this nervy five-wicket win over CSK last night. On the other hand, Super Kings stays around the lowering half in the points tally.

CSK will go up next with the Rajasthan Royals in tomorrow's IPL match. The match is set to be played on 6 PL Local time and 7:30 PM IST at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
