Earlier, Chennai Super Kings’ official twitter handle confirmed that Suresh Raina will not be available for the 13th edition IPL & has returned to India for personal reasons.
Suresh Raina has returned to India for personal reasons and will be unavailable for the remainder of the IPL season. Chennai Super Kings offers complete support to Suresh and his family during this time.

Raina opted out from the tournament for due potential health hazards due to Covid-19, he said that for him his kids are most important, he can leave anything for them, leave alone the IPL. (Source: Dainik Jagran).
According to the sources Suresh Raina was very unhappy with the hotel room he was given, he found bio-bubble security claustrophobic & wanted a room with a balcony. N. Srinivasan is very unhappy about this decision of Raina he said that ‘the sudden exit of Raina, left everyone in a bit shock’
“Cricketers are like prima donnas, like the temperamental actors of the olden days. Chennai Super Kings have always been like a family & all senior players have learnt to co-exist,” said Srinivasan. He added that “my thinking is that is you are reluctant or not happy, go back. I won’t force anyone to do anything, sometimes success gets into your head.”
Chennai Super Kings 13 management staff, bowler Deepak Chaar & young batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad tested positive for COVID. CSK was supposed to start their pre-tournament training from Friday. Support staff names are still unknown, it is said that they tested positive after they landed in Dubai. Due to which now CSK have extended their quarantine period for another week.
