The 13th season of Indian Premier League is scheduled to start from 19 September, the preparation of the league is all in chaos. The BCCI has not yet announced the schedule of the upcoming tournament, but the Covid-19 mess in the Chennai Super Kings has disrupted the board’s plan.
CSK’s 13 Support Staff & two Players Test Positive for Covid-19
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings 13 management staff, bowler Deepak Chaar & young batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad tested positive for COVID. CSK was supposed to start their pre-tournament training from Friday. Support staff names are still unknown, it is said that they tested positive after they landed in Dubai. Due to which now CSK have extended their quarantine period for another week.
Several members of the CSK’s camp have been tested positive of Covid-19; it is highly likely that the three-time champions will play the IPL 13 opener against Mumbai Indians. The players have tested positive, the franchise has to now quarantine for 14 days, instead of six & that could mean IPL could left with no choice but to start with another team.
The first match is played between those two teams, which played the last & final match of prior season’s IPL. The 12th edition of league’s final was played between these two teams, where MI won by just 1 run. Mumbai Indians & Chennai Super Kings are one of the most substantial teams of IPL with tremendous players on board. The face-off between these two teams, creates an ambience which is something we seldom witness with respect to other teams.
Recently, Chennai Super Kings’ official twitter handle confirmed that Suresh Raina will not be available for the 13th edition IPL & has returned to India for personal reasons. The 13th edition of Indian Premier League is scheduled to start from 19 September in UAE, but the announcement of the tournament schedule is yet due!
