Chennai Super Kings some management staff & bowler Deepak Chaar tested positive for COVID. CSK was supposed to start their pre-tournament training from Friday. Support staff are still unknown, it is said that they tested positive after they landed in Dubai. Due to which now CSK have extended their quarantine period for another week.
After reports of a Chennai Super Kings’ bowler testing positive for Covid-19 emerged, a lot of speculation also started with it, as to who the player was. It has been revealed that the player is none other than India bowler Deepak Chahar, who has represented the nation in international cricket too.
CSK reached Dubai on 21 August & was under mandatory six-day quarantine. CSK’s entire squad including supporting staff had to undergo their fourth Covid test on Friday. As per BCCI’s protocols three tests were mandatory, the result of COVID test will be known on Saturday.
CSK has taken all the necessary precautions upon reaching Dubai It is said that 12 support staff and may also include one player have tested COVID positive. Rest all are stable & have undergone Covid test.
Whereas in Abu Dhabi, due to increasing cases the regional authorities have made a rapid test mandatory at every point. Six teams are in Dubai, while Mumbai Indians & Kolkata Knight Riders are in Abu Dhabi. Rajasthan Royals & Kings XI Punjab will soon start their practice in Sharjah.
A 14-day quarantine rule in Abu Dhabi has put KKR & MI, the two IPL teams based there. While remaining teams have started their practice. In Dubai, Rajasthan Royals & Kings XI Punjab have already begun training, the others are likely to start in the next couple of days.
Dream11 IPL 2020 which is set to be started from September 19, players & management staff have reached UAE, there is still no announcement of the schedule. The increasing cases of Covid-19 is causing delay from BCCI to announce the IPL 2020 schedule.
