IPL 2020 DC vs CSK: The suspicion on availability of Delhi Capitals Captain Shreyas Iyer for the match against Chennai Super Kings still prevails. Iyer injured his shoulder in the match against Rajasthan Royals. Since it is doubtful whether he will be selected in the playing 11 or not, Shikhar Dhawan can be the one to take over the captaincy role and duties for Delhi Capitals.
Under Iyer captaincy, Delhi Capitals have performed brilliantly this season. They have won six matches and are at second place in IPL 2020 standings. Shreyas Iyer damaged his shoulder in an attempt to save a boundary while fielding against Rajasthan Royals on October 14.
Shikhar Dhawan in the Rajasthan Royals post-match conference spoke about the Iyer condition. He told, " No doubt Shreyas is in pain and hurt but the good thing is he can move his shoulder which eliminates the possibility of severe injury. He requires tests to know the actual damage done ".
Shreyas was assessed to know how severe the blow is. The reports of the test were expected to arrive on Thursday (October 15) but the management didn't comment on Iyer's Injury. The Delhi Capitals management team is reluctant to disclose the real situation.
This clearly signifies that Delhi Capitals has suffered another injury blow. And Iyer might be sidelined for the upcoming few matches. Deputy Captain, Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team as he did against RR after Iyer was taken out.
Shikhar Dhawan can be the new captain of Delhi Captials team against Chennai Super Kings today. The 34th match will be played Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The live telecast of the match will start from 7:30 IST and 6:00 PM UAE.
