IPL 2020 CSK vs SRH Strengths & Weaknesses of CSK: Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will lock-horns against their old-arch rivals Kings XI Punjab in their 3rd encounter at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on October 2, 2020. Let's hope MS Dhoni magic and their spin strength pulls them back strong against Kings XI Punjab today. The match was held at 6 PM Local and 7:30 according to IST. Chennai-based franchise CSK has started well earlier in the tournament as they defeat the defending champions Mumbai Indians in their opening encounter of Dream11 IPL 2020 last week. But after that, they lost two straight matches and now they are standing bottom of the points table with just 2 points from their 3 matches. So, they will be eyeing to come back strongly here at the slowest venue in Dubai.
Let's look at the Strengths and weaknesses of CSK:
MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings is probably the most experienced side in the fantasy cricket league. Their strength lies in the number of experienced stars that they bought in the auction. Most of his teammates are proven match-winners, both at the league stage and in big playoff and finals games. MS Dhoni has taken CSK to eight finals in 10 seasons and has won the title three times. Moreover, under his captaincy, CSK has won 100 matches which sets a record for the most no. of wins for any side in the IPL history.
Their squad has quality openers such as Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, quality middle-order such as Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, and MS Dhoni with quality all-rounders in the form of Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran. The bowling too has a great mix of quality pacers and spinners. While Imran Tahir leads the spin attack, Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh, Karn Sharma add to their strengths. CSK was the most successful team in the history of the IPL. They have won three IPL titles (i.e. 2010, 2011, 2018). They also have all the potential to claim their fourth IPL title this season of Dream11 IPL 2020.
MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings struggled in the last two years in their weak and inexperienced pace attack. IPL 2019 saw them winning just 4 out of their scheduled 9 away games including the playoffs. This is not a good sign for a team that has an impactful record at home. There is no doubt about the performance and abilities of their pacers Deepak Chahar, Lungi Ngidi, Josh Hazlewood, Shardul Thakur. But, to be honest, except for Deepak Chahar, the others may not come out good on bouncy and spicy tracks of UAE.
MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings are the only side to have made it to the playoffs in every edition they are being a part of which was a record in IPL history. They had won the title on three occasions i.e. in 2010, 2011 and 2018. But they also lost five finals which don't suit them at all.
