  • England Vs Australia test match on 25-08-1890 in Old Trafford, Manchester was abandoned due to rain, even no toss was held.  

  • Australia Vs England test match on 08-07-1938 in Old Trafford, Manchester was abandoned due to excessive rain. 

  • Australia Vs England test match on 31 December,1970 in Melbourne Cricket Ground was abandoned, as players started to enter the field it started to rain. There was discussion between MCC Manager & Australia Board, later it was concluded that a limited overs match will be played & was admitted to be first ODI match. 

  • New Zealand & Pakistan’s match on 03 February, 1989 in Carisbrook, Dunedin was called off due to heavy sweeping rain.  

  • On 10 March, 1990 England & West Indies match was abandoned due to rain on the 5th Day, after which ODI was played.  

  • Pakistan Vs Zimbabwe match in Iqbal stadium, Faisalabad on 17 December, 1998 was called off as no team was announced. 

  •  India & New Zealand match on 18 December, 1998 in Carisbrook, Dunedin was abandoned on day 3 and ODI match was played on 4th day. 

  • On 8 May, 2002 in Karachi. Pakistan & New Zealand’s Test series was called off due to security reason, after a bomb exploded near New Zealand’s hotel two hours prior to the match.
