Australian icon David Warner's wife Candice Warner has revealed that her middle child's favorite player is Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Candice Warner was speaking to Triple M Sydney Radio Station on November 18 when she was asked whether the Warner family plays backyard cricket. In reply, Mrs. Warner said that they do play cricket in their backyard before revealing that their middle-child is a die-hard fan of Virat Kohli.
The Warners are proud parents of three girls - Ivy Mae, Indi Rae, and Isla Rose who was born last year when the Aussie batsman Warner was in England for the ICC Cricket World Cup.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and David Warner will up against each other soon during the upcoming series between India and Australia. India is in Australia for three ODIs, three T20Is, and four Tests. Earlier this month, Warner and Kohli had locked horns in IPL 2020. As Kohli won’t be able to stay in Australia for the entire series. He will return home directly after the first Test to be with his wife as the couple awaits the birth of their first child. The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has already granted paternity leave to the Indian skipper.
“We do play a little bit of backyard cricket. The funny thing is my girls, sometimes they wanna be dad, sometimes they wanna be Finchy (Aaron Finch) but my middle child, she wants to be Virat Kohli. And I am not even joking,” said Candice Warner.
However, David Warner’s team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had ended Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore’s journey in the IPL 2020 by winning the Eliminator. On the other hand, SRH had bowed out of the competition after losing Qualifier 2 to Delhi Capitals. Eventually, Mumbai Indians have clinched their record-extending fifth IPL title this season of Dream11 IPL.
