IPL 2020: Rohit Sharma Mumbai Indian Skipper

One of the best white-ball cricketers in the modern era – The '' Hitman'' Rohit Sharma is great to watch for every cricket lovers. His ability to pick bowler’s length early and explosive Strokeplay make a significant and most destructive player for any opposition. He is considered to be an aggressive batsman with style and elegance. He is usually an opening batsman in limited-overs cricket but has played most of his Test cricket as a middle-order batsman.

Mumbai Indians record Under Rohit Sharma Captiancy

Total number of matches played as Captain- 104 matches

Total number of mathes won- 60 matches

Total number of matches lost- 42

Total number of macthes tied- 2

winning percentage- 58.65

In six years as captain, Rohit has led MI to three IPL titles which is an amazing feat. Rohit Sharma has been one of the most successful players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as captain. He has won the tournament most number of times i.e. 4 times (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019) under his leadership. He is the most successful IPL captain along with the ''Captain Cool'' MS Dhoni, with three titles. Also, he has 34 IPL fifties in his account, just two behind the top-most number held by David Warner and Gautam Gambhir.  He has scored 4,000 career runs in T20's so far. Rohit Sharma has scored 4,898 runs with one century and is the third-highest run-scorer after Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina.

Mumbai Indians strength will be their batting with skipper ''Hitman'' Rohit Sharma and the South African limited-cricket opener Quinton de Kock which will strengthen their opening pair. Also, The Aussies hard-hitting batsmen Chris Lynn also gives them an option for the slot if need to be fitting in their batting line-up in the upcoming session of Vivo IPL 2020. Suryakumar Yadav, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, who is returning from an injury break, and his brother Krunal Pandya make for depth in their middle-order.

Their problems could lie in their right bowling combination, especially the spin department. On the other hand, with no Malinga, who has pulled out due to some personal reasons, Jasprit Bumrah will be under pressure while he has been coming back after a serious injury. He was Mumbai Indians' leading wicket-taker last season with 19 wickets.

This season Rohit Sharma will have more responsibility on his shoulder. Since, he is also one of the most experienced players in the squad and captain also, team will look up to him. He needs to make sure team coordination is maintained and all the players play as a team while on the field. He needs to perform with his bat if he wants to win the 5th title for Mumbai Indians.
