A hard-fought West Indies overcomes Bangladesh by 17 runs in a nail-biter of the final Test being played at Dhaka and clean swept the two-Test match series by 2-0. In reply to WI's competitive 231, Bangladesh could only manage to reach 213 in their second innings, eventually lost at the hands of interim West Indies. Mayers, Bonner, Cornwall, all came to the party in typical fashion when the Windies needed them. So, we can say that Wet Indies played in an uninhibited manner and the results fell in favour of the braver team.

Kyle Mayers in the first Test, Rakheem Cornwall has had the say in the second Test as the big man has bowled 30 overs and takes four wickets to give his team a historic win. West Indies also didn't have their regular skipper Shakib playing as well and still have scripted history. The tourists came into the series as underdogs after having lost the ODI series. But the inexperienced bunch of players goes on to post a memorable win in the first Test before clinching twice in Dhaka.

Notably, a couple of hours back when Tamim Iqbal was going great guns, we all thought the hosts chase down the required target with ease but the game turned on its head as wickets kept tumbling one after the other. Bangladesh were outbatted in the first Test and have been outbowled in this one.

From West Indies' points of view, their Test stocks see a rise from here on. Windies all over the world would rejoice at the nail-biting victory at Dhaka as the hosts have been tough to defeat especially at home in recent times. Meanwhile, this is only the second loss for Bangladesh at Dhaka since August 2015.  First the IND-AUS Test series and now this, Test cricket indeed has been a thrill-a-minute ride of late.

Earlier on the day, at one stage, the West Indies were 188 for 9 and looked set to wrap the game. However, there was some drama and action in the extended half-an-hour of play. Mehidy has decided to play aggressive cricket and was also rewarded for his efforts. In the 59th over, he smashed Cornwall for a six over long-off and then used the slog sweep for four.

In the next over, he once again hits the ball a long way to bring the equation to under 20 runs. Meanwhile, Warrican sealed the deal for the visitors by removing Mehidy Hasan as the Windies big man grabbing a phenomenal catch to cut down his fierce 31-run knock.

Earlier, the West Indies' spinners have set up the win by running through the heart of Bangladesh's batting line-up. In pursuit of a tricky target, Bangladesh's openers played with positive intent especially Tamim Iqbal, who slammed his 28th half-century. Just when it seemed as if West Indies were on the back foot, Soumya Sarkar fell to the West Indies skipper Brathwaite.
