India vs England (IND vs ENG) 1st Test: The tourists are on the cusp of taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series. India are in the worst position against England on Day 5 of the first Test, at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. The hosts need more than 228 runs on the final day, with Shahbaz Nadeem and Ishant Sharma currently unbeaten and batting for them. Also, the Indian skipper has already registered his half-century but departs after making a top-notch 72.

Interestingly, the last time Virat Kohli being out bowled in a home Test was to Steve O'Keefe in Pune in 2017 - India's last home defeat. Earlier on the day, Shubman Gill slammed his third Test fifty. Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant were dismissed in the early stages of Day 5, with the duo registering scores of 15 and 11 respectively.

Washington Sundar has been sent back to the pavilion after just five deliveries. Ashwin, who was building a slow and steady partnership with Kohli, lost his wicket post-lunch session. For England, Jack Leach and James Anderson are in top form, having taken three wickets respectively. Meanwhile, Dom Bess has also registered a wicket.

Once England skipper Joe Root threw him the ball to Jimmy Anderson shows how you can take wickets for fun with reverse swing even if you don't have the ruthless pace. Anderson took out Gill's stumps flying in the 27th over of an improbable 420-run chase in Chennai. Then, he nipped Rahane's off stump again the fifth ball to stun India.
