Arun Dhumal, BCCI Treasurer confirmed that the upcoming season of Indian Premier League will start on 19th September only. There are no chances in the IPL schedule.
After 13 members of the Chennai Super Kings squad were found positive of Covid-19 despite strict regulation and bio-secure bubble quarantine questions regarding change in IPL schedule were planted in people’s mind.
To clear all the doubts BCCI Treasurer said, “All the members of the Chennai Super Kings are found negative in the latest test. There won't be any change in the IPL schedule. Players are following strict Covid-19 protocols and matches will be played without spectators”.
He further addressed on the issue of delay in IPL schedule. BCCI is in continues engagement with Emirate Cricket Board (ECB). IPL’s chairman Brijesh Patel is also in UAE and shortly the schedule will be released”, he said.
If the sources are to be believed then BCCI can make changes in the already prepared schedule. If the amendments are made, then the opening match between Holders Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super kings can be possibly replaced by Mumbai Indians locking horns with Sunrises Hyderabad in the opening fixture of the season.
With just 17 days left the IPL2020 to start all the teams leaving Chennai Super Kings aside have started their training session and are sweeting in day and out to prepare for the tournament. Chennai Super Kings camp has to undergo another Corona test before they start their training. If the reports of the tests are negative, then CSK can start their practice session from 4th September.
