The bottom-placed Melbourne Renegades (MLR) pulled off a thriller by winning 6 wickets against Adelaide Strikers (ADS) in Adelaide. A terrific 68-run stand between young Fraser-McGurk and the Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi gets them home safely with a ball to spare. With this nail-biting win over the Strikers, Aaron Finch-led Melbourne Renegades break their seven-match losing streak. However, the Melbourne side still languishes at the bottom of the BBL leaderboard with just 9 points.
The Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi hits his highest BBL score in a match-winning knock of 71 not out, keeping the hopes alive for Renegades. Fraser-McGurk was nowhere near as convincing but finished strongly along with Nabi. Both put a match-winning 68-run stand for the fifth wicket. Mohammad Nabi has adjudged 'Player of the Match' for his blistering 71 not out off 41 balls, comprising 9 fours and 2 maximum. Rashid Khan was the pick of the Strikers bowlers, finished with 2 for 24 in his four overs.

Opted to bat first, Adelaide Strikers' openers Philip Salt and Matt Renshaw got off a flier start with a 61-run partnership. Skipper Alex Carry and Philip Salt further added another 50+ stand for the second wicket. Then a healthy partnership in the middle and finally an explosion sees Adelaide finish with 177/7 in 20 overs.

Jonathan Wells and Jake Weatherald quick-fired at the lower order to post a competitive total. For Renegades, Peter Hatzoglou claimed 3/43 while Prestwidge also picked a couple of wickets.
