Brisbane Heat hammers Sydney Thunder by 6 wickets in the 28th match of the BBL 10 at The Gabba. In reply to Sydney's 175, The X-factor subs Chris Lynn gives them a flurry start upfront. Joe Burns and Denly both stitched a 90-run stand for the third wicket and set the tone for their side. Both the J's notched their respective half-centuries for the Heats. Though they lost a few wickets towards the end, a cool and calm skipper Peirson ensured the Heat's victory in the stiff run chase. He completes the formalities along with Bazley at the back end.

With this emphatic win, Brisbane Heat climbs to the sixth spot in the points table while the Thunders remains to second place in the table with 19 points. Tanveer Sangha was the pick of the bowlers for the Thunders, finished with three for 38. his match-winning blitz innings.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman has been adjudged 'Man of the Match' for his exceptional bowling spell and some spectacular catches in the field. Take a look at Flyer Afghan spinner for taking a spectacular catch to dismiss BRH batsman Usman Khawaja for a duck.

Opted to bat first, Sydney Thunder made a good recovery in the second half and managed to post a challenging total of 174/8 in 20 overs. After losing Khawaja for a duck, Alex Hales and skipper Callum Ferguson have a decent stand to get their innings back on track. But when Sydney's batters are about to shift gears, Mujeeb got rid of both the batsmen and put brakes on the opposition's scoring rate which had started to look devastating.

Mujeeb was also involved in a run-out as he got rid of in-form Sam Billings. However, following that run-out, Ben Cutting and Daniel Sams got together as they added quick-fire 35 runs in the Power Surge overs. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mark Steketee picked two wickets while other Brisbane pacers took a wicket each.
