IPL 2020: Indian Cricket team icon Sunil Gavaskar commented Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper came out to bat against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their second match on Thursday. Gavaskar has been a commentator and expert on the game for years and had a huge fan following and fellow analysts. This is a harsh call for the player like Virat Kohli, who is in tremendous form for the Indian national team. Sunil Gavaskar’s remark, however, did not go well with Virat Kohli’s fans as some of them urging the BCCI to remove him from the commentary panel.

Legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar is facing the heat on Twitter after coming up with a controversial comment on-air while commentating during the match between RCB and KXIP. But it surely annoying Kohli and his wife actor Anushka Sharma as he mentioned by calling their name in his commentary during an IPL match on Thursday. So, we all hoping that this is not a big issue for the Indian cricket team skipper Kohli and doesn't affect his performance in the current season of Dream11 fantasy cricket league i.e. IPL 2020.

Reacting to Gavaskar’s comment, Anushka Sharma posted on Instagram: “Mr Gavaskar your message is distasteful is a fact but I would love for you to explain why you thought of making such a sweeping statement on a wife accusing her of her husband’s game? I am sure over the years you have respected the private lives of every cricketer while commentating on the game. ”

In the commentary box, Gavaskar had said: “Ab joh Lockdown tha to sirf Anushka ki bowling ki practice ki unhone, wo video dekhi hai (reference to a viral video), usse to kuch nahi hona hai (During the recent lockdown he only practised to Anushka’s bowling, I saw a video. But that is not going to be enough).''

In this match, Royal Challenger Bangalore(RCB) skipper Virat Kohli dropped KL Rahul twice — once in the 17th over at deep square-leg when he was batting on 83 and then again in the 18th over when he was on 89. After being dropped by Virat Kohli, Rahul smashed 42 runs from just 9 balls. The KXIP skipper then went on to shatter a few records on the way to the highest score by an Indian in an IPL. He scored 132* (69) creates 4 records to his name.

Virat Kohli's Men in Red up next against the defending champions Mumbai Indians on 28th of September at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
