IND vs AUS 2020-21: The Aussie threaten pacer Kane Richardson withdrew from the much-awaited series against India due to the outbreak in Adelaide, which is battling from the coronavirus epidemic. Richardson will be replaced by fellow quick Andrew Tye for the limited-overs series against India which includes three ODIs and three T20Is.

Richardson was initially part of the Australian squad for the limited-overs series against India involving three ODIs and three T20Is. Andrew Tye has replaced Kane Richardson for the limited-overs series against India. Richardson informed selectors of his decision on Wednesday, hours before South Australia announced a six-day "circuit-breaker" lockdown.

As the coronavirus situation in Adelaide goes downhill and Cricket Australia airlift the players and staff members from Adelaide city as the latest outbreak closed the state borders as well. There has been a sudden outbreak in Adelaide city and the state government has announced a total lockdown for six days.

Australia’s national selector Trevor Hohns said "It was a difficult decision for Kane to make but one which has the complete support of the selectors and the entire playing squad," CA national selector Trevor Hohns had said on Wednesday.

"Kane wanted to remain in Adelaide with Nyki and their newborn son. We will always support our players and their families; even more so given the challenging environment, we are in. We will miss what he brings to the team but completely understand and support his decision," he added.

India's blockbuster tour of Australia to bein with the three one-day internationals and three T20 internationals to be played in Sydney and Canberra beginning on November 27. 

After that, the historical pink-ball Test scheduled at the Adelaide Oval from December 17-21.
