Afghanistan to play first ever Test Series against Australia in December

Afghanistan are set to play their first ever Test

Afghanistan are set to play their first ever Test in Australia in December this year. They will play one-off test against Australia in Perth from December 7. Australia & Afghanistan were supposed to play test in November after the ICC World Cup. However, with the T20 World Cup postponed due to COVID-19, the schedule has been changed.

Indian Premier League 2020 will end on November 10 in UAE, all players who will arrive in Australia will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine. Thus, it’s likely that Australia & Afghanistan will play in early December.

The test match between both the teams will not be part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship as it is limited to the top nine teams & does not include three full members in Afghanistan, Ireland & Zimbabwe.
